Making a Long
Standing Commitment to Education
Ronald McDonald House Charities of
Tallahassee participates in the RMHC
National Scholarship Program. We work
with RMHC Global to offer scholarships to
students from communities who face limited
access to educational and career
opportunities. These scholarships are
part of RMHC's ongoing commitment to
education.
The RMHC
National Scholarship Program is designed to
provide financial assistance to eligible
graduating high school seniors who face
limited access to educational and career
opportunities. Students are selected
and awards are distributed based on
demonstrated academic achievement, financial
need and community involvement.
Additional selection criteria may be
specified by our local chapter based on
strategic goals and community needs.
History
RMHC began its support of scholarship
programs in 1985, by committing $50,000
toward the first scholarships awarded
through the Hispanic American Commitment to
Educational Resources (HACER) program.
In 2001, the RMHC/ASIA (Asian Students
Increasing Achievement) and RMHC African
American Future Achievers Scholarships
began. To date, RMHC has awarded more
than $24 million to help high school seniors
attend college.
